Sparks Dentures | Absolute Dental

Dentures are among the most common oral procedures for individuals suffering from missing teeth or weak gums. According to the American College of Prosthodontists, it’s estimated that 23 million Americans are edentulous or lacking teeth. Of those, 12 million are edentulous in one arch. 90% of those missing teeth turn to dentures to restore their smile.

At Absolute Dental, we are proud to offer this life-changing dental service as we help patients restore their smiles with top-tier dental care, personalized dental plans, and quality dentures.

What Are Dentures, And Do I Need Them?

Dentures are removable oral devices designed to replace missing teeth, improve jaw function, and enhance your overall smile. While dentures are generally associated with older individuals,  individuals of all ages may require dentures as they can significantly improve your overall oral health and jaw function.

You may want to consider dentures if you have lost several teeth, have experienced a serious injury that resulted in the loss of multiple teeth, or are dealing with gum disease or gum decay.

With today’s technological advancements, there are different types of dentures, including full sets, partial dentures, and non-removable implant-supported dentures. This wide range of options allows patients to explore different kinds of affordable dentures that suit their lifestyles and financial needs.

The team at Absolute Dental can help give you a thorough analysis of your oral health to determine if dentures might be a good solution for you. Contact us today to schedule a consultation with our team.

Here’s What To Expect With New Dentures

Whether you get full dentures, a partial set, or implants, you should expect your mouth to feel different when you get new dentures.

  • Dentures may feel bulky or loose, but this is only because there is a new device in your mouth that you’ll need to get used to. Over time, your tongue and cheek muscles will strengthen to help support your new dentures.
  • You may also notice that there’s an increase in saliva. Hypersalivation is normal when there’s a foreign device fixed in your mouth. This, too, will subside over time.

Finally, you may feel minor irritation around your gums, missing teeth, and with your jaw as a whole. This minor irritation gets better as you get used to your dentures. If this irritation worsens or is overly uncomfortable, this may mean you’ll need to have your dentures adjusted, or there are other underlying dental issues. Speak with your dentist right away to have these issues resolved.

Dentures were once considered a costly dental procedure, but the advancement in technology, and different options, make affordable dentures quite possible.

Additionally, most insurances cover dentures at a percentage. Depending on your policy coverage, you may be able to have your dentures covered up to 50% or more. Consulting with your insurance policy is the best way to understand how much coverage you can expect for your dental implants and how much you may need to pay out of pocket.

The Nevada Medicaid Dental Services Program can also help individuals under the age of 21 who do not have dental insurance find financial relief with dental care. While younger individuals who need dentures are rare, severe injuries can require dental treatment, like dentures for missing teeth.

Unfortunately, Medicare does not cover the cost of most dental procedures, including dental care or dental devices. Original Medicare may cover some of the cost of dental services, while Medicare Part A (hospital insurance) may cover the cost of dental procedures you might receive while in a hospital.

For those who do not have insurance, we are proud to offer flexible financial solutions, including our Smile Saver program. Our subscription-based insurance coverage allows you to choose a plan that suits your budget and dental needs.
