How Does Teen Invisalign Work?
Using the latest technology, Invisalign has developed a system using SmartTrack material to straighten teeth for teens. Here’s how:
1. Scanning Your Smile
Rather than using messy teeth impressions, Invisalign uses the iTero Element™ scanner to get a more accurate map of your teen’s mouth. This method creates customized aligners that fit perfectly over the teeth.
2. Digital Treatment Plan
Absolute Dental has access to the latest software that creates a 3D image of the teeth and a personalized treatment. The software calculates how much pressure to apply to each tooth to reach optimal results.
3. Wearing Your Aligners
Your teen will wear each aligner for one to two weeks before switching to the next one. Our orthodontists will provide detailed instructions on when to switch out each tray. Each set of aligners applies gentle pressure that gradually guides the teeth into alignment.
Your dentist may also recommend using SmartForce® aligner attachments, which help the aligners apply more force, or precision wings, which can improve bite issues.
4. Tracking Progress
With regular visits to your Absolute Dental office, our skilled team will keep track of your teen’s progress to ensure treatment is on track and we reach your goals.
5. Retaining Your Results
After your teen completes Invisalign treatment, we provide retainers they must wear at night to keep their teeth from drifting back to their original positions.
